• Upright Bass:
Todd Sickafoose,
Drums: Michael Israel

• Jazzy Vocal Blues visiting a different plane.

I’ve been a wanderer my whole life. There are all these spaces in the margins where people who fall through the cracks end up.

It’s pretty intense out there. The view from sidewalk level can get pretty bleak, but there’s a certain freedom from not having any illusions to uphold.

I wrote this song to give a face to all those we render faceless.

•Creamy, dreamy fingerpicked guitar, gorgeous lyrics and the soulful flute of Matt Eakle

• “O the great and patient rugged joys, my soul’s strong joys unreck’d by man”
       —Walt Whitman

I was lucky enough to grow up in a place where we could play outdoors. As a kid I could run right out the back door and be in beautiful New England woodlands.

A few hundred yards into the forest it became dense and quiet, the sunlight dappled beneath the leaves shifting colors in the wind.

When I was around fifteen developers came in and took out a huge section of the forest for housing tracts. Suddenly places where I had my secret spots were someone’s back yard. I took to crossing through people’s yards by covert routes to reach my various destinations.

The countryside constricted around me and not long after I dropped out of school and left home in search of somewhere I could regain that feeling of freedom.

I think the people who have hurt me the most didn’t even realize what they were doing.

How do you get through to these people? It must be a rush to game the system but it’s really not a game when people are getting hurt.

I have to claim my life for my own and dare to fly free of the scenarios others try to impose on me. Writing this song was kind of like being a detective putting the pieces together and realizing I could unlock the trap that’s been laid for me…
